The prizes

Paid into the winner's Melon wallet in the Melon app.

When

The competition runs from [start date and time] to [end date and time], South African time. Runs finished after the close don't count. It's run by Melon Mobile, [registered company name].

Who can win

• You're [18] or older, live in South Africa and have a South African ID or passport.
• You're a registered Melon customer. New or existing both count, and you can join Melon before your finalist check.
• One prize per person, checked against your ID number, however many numbers you play with.
• Melon staff, the agencies running this competition, and their families can play but can't win.

How scores count

• Your score is the distance you fly plus 25 m for every Melon balloon, worked out by our servers.
• Play live in your browser with your data on. Runs we can't follow live don't count.
• Each mobile number keeps its best checked score. If two scores tie, the one entered first ranks higher.
• Only your 3 letters show on the leaderboard. Your name and number never do.

How winners are checked

The top [10] at the close are finalists. We contact them within [3] business days, and each one:

1. shows an ID or passport with the same name they entered,
2. proves the number is theirs with a one-time PIN,
3. has a Melon account and wallet in their own name,
4. plays while we watch and reaches [50%] of their score within [30 minutes].

We also review the recording of their best run. The three highest finalists who pass win. If someone fails a step or doesn't reply after two tries, the next finalist moves up. Prizes are paid within [10] business days, only into the winner's own Melon wallet.

Fair play

Melon decides, at its sole discretion, whether a run was played fairly. If we believe you cheated, or got help the game isn't meant to allow, we can remove your scores and disqualify you at any time. That includes:

• letting a bot, script, AI assistant or AI agent play for you,
• changing the game or its traffic, or slowing down, pausing or freezing it to get an advantage,
• playing for someone else, or using someone else's number,
• using more than one identity, or deliberately using a bug,
• picking rude initials.

We can pause or end the competition if it can't run fairly. Our decision is final, subject to the law.

Your information

We use your name and number only to run this competition and contact you about it. Your phone remembers them for 14 days so you don't have to retype them; tap "Not you? Forget my details" to wipe them sooner. We don't sell or share them, and we delete them [6 months] after the competition ends. To see, change or delete your details, email [email address].
